Drop-in sessions

Our weekly online drop-in sessions are designed to answer queries on ethics review processes and activities managed by the Research Ethics team. Find out about upcoming sessions and how to attend.

When to attend

All staff and research students are welcome to attend our drop-in sessions. In the first instance we encourage student researchers to seek advice and guidance from their supervisor or ethics lead within their department.ÌýIf you need additional assistance, you should register for a drop-in session.

Our drop-in sessions can be used to:

  • Clarify if your research needs ethical review
  • Gain advice on the appropriate level of research ethics review
  • Discuss complex ethical aspects of your research and how best to address them in your application
  • Discuss queries related to UCL's new research ethics online system ‘ethics@ucl’

If you would like to check on the progress of a current application email ethics@ucl.ac.uk. You can also contact the team by email at any time with any queries you may have.

How to attend

Sessions will be held every Thursday from 2-3pm. Appointments will last approximately 20 minutes. You can register your interest using the link below.Ìý

On the booking form, you will be asked to provide a short summary of your research ethics query and your ethics ID number if your query relates to an existing registered application (e.g. how to address feedback).Ìý

Once you have submitted the form, you will receive a meeting invitation and Teams meeting link.ÌýStudents can forward the appointment to their supervisor if they wish.

Slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.ÌýShould you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, or have any technical issues on the day, please let us know by emailing us at ethics@ucl.ac.uk.Ìý
