The aim of this module is to acquaint students with current issues in the study of the archaeology of the Nile valley.

This thematic module explores current issues and debates in the archaeology of the Nile valley, i.e. Egypt and Sudan.听Focusing on archaeological evidence and case studies from the periods between 3000 BC and 1000 AD, topics include:

chronology
kingship
approaches to past landscapes
everyday life
religious practices
mortuary practices
identity
critical history of research.
