Statement from the UCL Institute of ArchaeologyÌý

The UCL Institute of Archaeology, with funding from the UCL Research Institute for Collections, is committed to addressing the colonial origins and legacies of the Petrie Palestinian Collection, which contains more than 20,000 artefacts excavated by Sir Flinders Petrie during the British Mandate of Palestine, and was acquired by the Institute on its founding in 1937.

This staff-student initiative will involve updating relevant information about the collection, providing new educational content, and other enterprises to promote awareness and understanding of the collection.

Any enquiries about this initiative may be directed to Kevin MacDonald, Director, UCL Institute of Archaeology (ioa-director@ucl.ac.uk).
