Dr BaliÌýis an Associate Professor of Practice at the Center for Learning and Teaching at theÌýÌýShe is known for a wide range of interests including her work on digital education, intercultural learning, community-based learning and citizenship education.


Heidi Safia Mirza

Professor of Race, Faith and Culture

Known for her pioneering intersectional research on race, gender and identity in education, she has an international reputation for championing equality and rights for Black and Muslim women through educational reform.ÌýProf Mirza hails from Trinidad and Tobago and, as a child of theÌýWindrushÌýgeneration, is one of the first and few female professors of colour in the UK.Ìý
