Interrupting your studies means taking a temporary break from your studies. The break is usually for the remainder of the academic year or a full calendar year and most often is needed for health-related, financial or other personal / work-related reasons.
Use the checklist below to help you decide whether to interrupt:听
Review UCL鈥檚 interruptions regulations听
Taught students should review UCL鈥檚 interruptions regulations (section 6 of the Academic Manual): these cover categories of interruption, important things to consider and the process for interruption.听
Postgraduate Research students should review Interruptions Regulations for Postgraduate Research Students (Part A: Section 2.8) to understand the PGR specific process听听
Discuss your interruption with a member of staff from your department听
Before you apply to take a break from your studies you should discuss your circumstances with a member of your department, this might be your personal tutor, supervisor, departmental tutor, departmental graduate tutor, a programme administrator or another member of staff.听
They will be able to help you to consider your options and make sure that interrupting is right for you. You might find that you can continue your studies if we can put in place鈥�Reasonable Adjustments鈥痮谤鈥�Examination Adjustments鈥痜or you.听听
