We know it can feel intimidating starting university or a degree. Our Pre-Arrival events are designed to help you get prepared.听听

Undergraduate Students

Meet your Student Adviser听

Student Advisers, based in your department, support your transition to university life. If you start in September, your Student Adviser will run an online event before you arrive. You鈥檒l meet your Adviser, find out what they do and meet other students in your cohort. These events usually run two weeks before the start of term. You will be contacted by your department or Student Adviser with information about this event.听

If you start in January, you can meet your Student Adviser at events they'll run as part of the听听Beat the January Blues campaign.听

Access UCL Pre-Enrolment Events听

Online Events

Our online events are open to all incoming Access UCL students. You'll hear from current 皇家华人 students and learn about our听support services. You can also ask questions听to ease any worries about starting university.听听There are three events in this series:

  • Student Ambassador Q&A Panel, Wednesday, 4听September 2024.
  • UCL Support Services Showcase*, Thursday, 12听September 2024.
  • UCL Support Services Showcase*, Tuesday,听17听September 2024.

*These events will be identical, so you'll only need to attend one.听Timings are TBC but each session will run for 60-90 minutes

Access UCL students will be emailed a link to register once their UCL place is confirmed, after A-level results day.

Access UCL Pre-Enrolment Programme

In September 2024, we are piloting a听week-long programme for Access UCL students from select departments. Running from Monday, 2听September to Thursday, 5听September, this programme will include:

  • Online sessions with UCL support services and current students, to familiarise you with the support available at 皇家华人.
  • One on-campus day* (Thursday, 5 September) with a听taster session led by听your department, a campus tour and a slot to collect your UCL ID card early. You'll also meet other Access UCL students.
  • The opportunity to practice an academic piece of work, which you will receive feedback on.

*UCL can cover the cost of travel to and from campus. We will听also provide a limited number of overnight stays in UCL accommodation听if you鈥檙e travelling from afar.

Access UCL students within the pilot departments will be emailed at the start of the summer if you're eligible to take part. You will听be sent registration information once your听UCL place is confirmed after听A-level results day.听

International Students听听

International students at any study level can attend our pre-arrival international student orientation events. We run events for January and September starters.听听

Graduate Students听听

International Students

If you are an International Postgraduate Student, you can attend our pre-arrival international student orientation events. We run events for January and September starters.听听
