Social Science Plus

Our Social Science Plus scheme offers 拢10K for UCL social science led cross-disciplinary pilot project that will lay the basis for a future funding application

New eligibility requirement

Only Principal Investigators who are UCL social scientists from the IOE or the Faculty of Social & Historical Sciences (our scheme funders) are eligible to apply.听 Co-Investigators / ECRs / Additional Collaborators may be based in any UCL faculty.听听 Further eligibility requirements are detailed in our call guidance.听

  5. Familarise yourself with the key features of our scheme:
  • 拢10,000 for a UCL social science led cross-disciplinary (social science and non-social science) pilot/seed research project that will lay the basis for an external funding application (medium or large) with a strong social science component听

  • Only Principal Investigators who are UCL social scientists from the IOE or the Faculty of Social & Historical Sciences (our scheme funders) are eligible to apply.听 Co-Investigators / ECRs / Additional Collaborators may be based in any UCL faculty.听听 Further eligibility requirements are detailed in our call guidance whcih will be available when the next call opens听

  • Principal Investigators and Co-investigators must be of post-doctoral standing or above and be employed by UCL during the life of the project

  • Applications must be genuinely听inter/cross-disciplinary, innovative and research based
    听
  • Our scheme is competitive and we usually fund two projects
    听
  • To date the scheme has invested over 拢170K in听17听projects听and supported over 50听collaborators across UCL and led to many follow-on projects, publications and networks.听 A number of projects have helped secure over 拢1 million in research funding

  • We have received generous funding from IOE and the Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences to support this scheme

  • Our scheme was initiated by Professor Alison Fuller (the Domain's first Chair)听in 2016-17
