The UK is putting almost
拢90m towards building the world's largest telescope in Chile. The European
extremely large telescope will cost nearly 拢1bn in total. "Most excitingly [the telescope] will directly image extra solar planets," says Professor Andrew Coates (UCL Space and Climate Physics).
