TheÌýBartlettÌýSchool ofÌýPlanning'sÌýProf Stephen Marshall, in conjunction with co-investigatorsÌýDr Elsa ArcauteÌýof CASA and Prof Marc-Olivier Coppens of UCL'sÌýCentre for Nature Inspired EngineeringÌý(CNIE), and doctoral researcherÌýYuerong Zhang, have won an EPSRC Impact Accelerator Award on the theme 'Transport Data Ecosystems'. The £13,400 award is to exploit potential linkages between Prof Marshall's earlierÌýnature-inspired project, onÌýÌý(funded by a CNIE Inspiration Grant), and the data management mission of the Department for Transport (DfT), where Yuerong Zhang will complete a six month secondment. This innovative, inter-disciplinary work will draw from data environment analogies with ecosystems, applied within the DfT'sÌýTransport Infrastructure Skills & Efficiency StrategyÌýLiving Lab. Ms Zhang's doctoral research is onÌýmetro system resilience in London.
