Description
Reproductive Health provides knowledge of the diagnosis and management of many aspects of reproductive and sexual health. Topics covered include polycystic ovary syndrome, amenorrhea, hirsutism, anovulation, premature ovarian failure, pituitary/adrenal disease, premenstrual syndrome and menopause, as well as contraception, abortion, STI’s, sexual dysfunction, male and female infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, fertility preservation in cancer patients, reproductive imaging, global reproductive issues including in low and middle-income countries and the ethics ofÌýreproduction.ThisÌýmodule covers the clinical diagnosis and treatment of reproductive health issued covered in the IFWH014 Female Anatomy, Physiology and Pathophysiology module.
After taking this module you should be able to demonstrate a knowledge of:
- reproductive endocrinology
- reproductive imaging
- contraception and sexual health
- infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, and fertility preservation
- global reproductive issues including inÌýlow and middle incomeÌýcountries
- the ethics of reproduction
The module consists of lectures, tutorials, formative assessments such as a global reproductive health discussion and a mock research ethics committee, and observation of live surgery.
