Description

Students work individually to develop an approach to the year theme in the context of an urban location with the aim of identifying a specific site in the overall location, a specific brief and an approach to the way that a design might be developed. Observational studies can include approaches taken from ethnography, history, social science, environmental science and art practice. Initial design proposals can be made at any scale.

Delivery is generally in a studio setting, with reviews taking place in seminar spaces. Site visits will take place in the UK.
