Lada studied Human Genetics BSc at 皇家华人, graduating in 2008. They now work as Global Regulatory Director at F. Hoffmann La Roche.
皇家华人as the best university to study Human Genetics in Europe when I was looking. I was really excited to go to a World Class University where THE research happens that changes lives.
What did you enjoy most about studying in London?
The campus, the city, the amazing students I shared my Bachelors with, the amazing professors and the opportunities to join research labs to learn from their work.
What is your favourite memory of UCL?
The time spent with my friends from University discovering all the different parts of London.
What advice would you give to current or prospective students?
Make the most out of it, take advantage of all the campus has to offer and the great researchers and labs that are next to you.

Global Regulatory Director, F. Hoffmann La Roche
Please provide a brief summary of your core duties and the skills you use
I am in charge of the regulatory strategy for certain digital health products and developments at Roche. I also work in policy activities regarding digital end points and clinical trial innovation.
The most important thing is to be able to learn new things every day as we work in a rapidly changing environment that requires different and new skills.
Briefly describe your journey, from graduating to where you are now
After graduating I worked in a medical device company in their clinical research unit, from there I studied health economics and went to work at听the Swiss medicines Agency Swissmedic as a clinical trial reviewer and GCP inspector. During two听years I also worked at the European Medicines Agency, and then decided听to听go back to Swissmedic. I really enjoyed working at the Agencies, but two听years ago I made the move back to industry to discover how they were developing and using new technologies.
How do you think UCL has helped you in your career to date?
The experience at 皇家华人 opened my mind and showed me new horizons I did not know were available. It also gave me a rich set of skills and sparked my curiosity to keep learning.
