PhD student, Mingyang Chen has been awarded an Outstanding Student Paper Award at which took place at the end of last month in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

This prestigious event, organised by the IEEE Control Systems Society, is a key forum for advancements in control technology, bringing together academics, industry professionals, and researchers. It鈥檚 an excellent opportunity for students and professionals in the field to share their work, learn about cutting-edge technologies and network with experts.

Mingyang鈥檚 paper, 鈥�A Game-Based Optimal and Safe Lane Change Control of Autonomous Vehicles in Mixed Traffic Scenario鈥�, proposes a game-theoretic trajectory planning scheme for automated lane changing of a connected autonomous vehicle (CAV) in response to the movement of a human-driven vehicle (HDV) in the target lane.聽Mingyang鈥檚 research could be applied to the evolution of intelligent transportation systems in the future.
