UCL Economics alum named in Forbes 30 under 30

We are pleased to share that »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË Economics and Geography alum, Ali Tehrani has been named in Forbes' 30 under 30 list.
Ali has been selected in the Media and Marketing category for his start-up company , which uses AI to improve internet communities and helps businesses and the government detect and mitigate the effects of disinformation. The startup was highlighted in a 2020 report by the UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport as an example of a British company tackling false, misleading or harmful online narrative.Â
Astroscreen was launched with the assistance of UCL's dedicated entrepreneurship hub, BaseKX which provided business advice, mentorship and the right environment to structure and grow their companies further as well as recieivng training and access to networking events.Â
In addition to receiving dedicated entrepreneurship support, the company also secured seed investment from The UCL Technology Fund. The fund invests in commercialisation opportunities arising from UCL's research. It’s managed by AlbionVC in collaboration with UCL Business (UCLB), part of UCL Innovation & Enterprise.
