Winners of Explore Econ 2020 Announced

The Explore Econ 2020 undergraduate research conference announces winning paper, poster and winner of the Ignite Session.

Earlier this week staff and students took part in the sixth annual undergraduate research conference Explore Econ. Professor Anthony Smith (Vice Provost, Education and Student Affairs) opened the event and Professor Sasha Roseneil (UCL Economics) presented the awards ceremony.

Winning Paper:

Winner - Cezary Klimczuk “Letting the machines do the maths: An AI predicting cryptocurrency movements”

Runner up  - Dong Yi Wu “Understanding the impact of remittances and diaspora driven FDI on poverty reduction in developing countries”

Winning Poster:

Winner - Shivam Gujral “Direct Benefit Transfers: A way forward to transform the Indian Education system?”

Runner up  - Charles Graham “Derivatives: are we immune from another crisis?”

The energy and commitment of the staff and students involved made this year’s Explore Econ an inspirational event. Congratulations everyone.

Explore Econ 2020 took place on Wednesday 26 February and was organised by and sponsored by .

The conference showcases independent work undertaken by students from all years of the undergraduate programme, much of it outside of the curriculum.
