UCL Earth Sciences is committed to creating a welcoming environment in the department for all LGBTQIA+ students and staff. Key contact: Dr Brian Thomas.

Our main facilities at »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË, the Kathleen Lonsdale Building, also featureÌýa genderneutral toilet on the third floor. We are in the process of setting up a network that will meet once a term for coffee and cake and other social events. The network will report directly to the EDI Committee.Ìý

In 2018Ìýone of the UK’s best employers for lesbian, gay, bi and trans staff in the Stonewall 2018 Top 100 Employers Index. UCL has an active LGBTQIA+ Equalities Action Group (LEAG) and an LGBTQIA+ staff social network (Out@UCL; Twitter: @uclout) which meets at least twice a term and sponsors a variety of events, including annual trips to London Pride, Black Pride and Trans Pride. Staff at »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË can become aÌýFriend of Out@UCL, and UCL provides training for staff to become LGBTQIA+ allies. There is also an active research network calledÌý, a university-wide initiative that brings together UCL staff and students with research and teaching interests in LGBTQ studies, gender and sexuality studies, queer theory and related fields.

The support and wellbeing service offers support to LGBTQIA+ students. TheÌýÌýis here to support you in your study and work, to provide you with social activities, as well as to campaign on your behalf and raise awareness of yourÌýissues.Ìý
