UCL Connect

UCL alumni are a diverse and talented global community,Ìýwhich you are a part of for life after you leave UCL. After you graduate, you will have access to UCL Connect, the professional development series for alumni. The UCL Connect programme is dedicated to bringing professional development skill and expertise directly to alumni and students across the global UCL community. Whether you’re established in your career, moving into a new industry or considering your options post-graduation, the UCL Connect series has something for everyone.

UCL Connect ranges from in-person panels to online workshops and resources such as blogs, case studies and podcasts.


UCL x Chanel Women in Tech Mentoring scheme

Would you benefitÌýfrom working with a mentor for 6 months, and learning more about technology related roles in the luxury fashion industry?Ìý

The UCL x Chanel Women in Tech Mentoring scheme is open to all femaleÌýstudents wishing to pursue a career in technology.ÌýStudents from any degree background and level areÌýeligible to apply.Ìý

Mentoring is an active relationship between two people, to enable working towards the mentee’s goals and developing their skills to help further their career. This is a fantastic way to build your confidence, broaden your horizons, and give you an insight into an exciting and dynamic industry.ÌýÌý

In order toÌýbe successful, you will need to commit to a 6 monthÌýpartnership, and be willing to actively collaborate, taking responsibility for arranging meetings with your mentorÌýand driving your own learning. SuccessfulÌýapplicants will be requiredÌýto attend a training session and to complete a self reflectionÌýjournal after each meeting. Ìý

The scheme will suit students who:Ìý

  • Are interested in a career involving technology, and in the luxury fashion sectorÌý
  • Have the time management and organisational skills to arrange regular meetings for the duration of the mentoring programmeÌý
  • Show capacityÌýfor self reflection, with an awareness of areas for development and a willingness to address themÌý
