Marcela Chapa Garza

Marcela Chapa Garza is a Project Manager of the Strategic Economics Alliance at the UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP).

She formerly directed the School of International Affairs of Anahuac University in Queretaro, Mexico where she managed the master’s degree in Social Responsibility, the Bachelor’s programme of International Affairs and developed a Bachelor’s degree in Socioeconomic and Ecological Transformation. In this same institution, she assumed roles such as Chief of Staff to the President and Provost, full-time professor and Coordinator of the Leadership Programme in Public Administration.

She has also been Chief of Staff to the Executive Secretary of the Vatican Covid Commission within the Dicastery for the Promotion of Integral Human Development of the Vatican where she led experts within the Commission’s Task Forces in Economics, Ecology, Security and Public Health.

Marcela has a degree in International Affairs from the Tecnológico de Monterrey, a master’s degree in Human Sciences from Anahuac University, Queretaro and completed her MSc studies at the University of Business and Economics of Vienna (WU) in Socioecological Economics and Policy.

Other roles in her career include being a mentor within the Young America’s Business Trust of the OAS; the head analyst of international news for different broadcasts in TV and Radio such as Televisa, Imagen and Exa and participations in France 24; Lecturer at International Summit for the Habitat of Latin-America and the Caribbean (CIHALC), and Mexican Association of International Studies (AMEI) Congress; and moderator.
