Isadora Spillman-Schappell is the Cities Programme Manager at the UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP).
Isadora听leads the work on the Council on Urban Initiatives, a partnership between UN-Habitat, LSE Cities and IIPP,听advocating for the power of cities to promote systemic change to achieve the goal of the green, just, and healthy city focusing on their public value and spatial potential.听Through her role, she also collaborates with the London Borough of Camden, exploring how public procurement can support mission-oriented innovation.
Previously, she served as a Program Associate at the New York City Mayor鈥檚 Office of Criminal Justice, working on the policy plan to close the jails on Rikers Island. She also managed New York City鈥檚 transitional housing programs for people returning from jail and prison.听Isadora听holds an MPA in Innovation, Public Policy and Public from听The UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose and a BA in Government from Wesleyan University.听听
