The winning entries to The Bartlett’s annual Student Travel Awards scholarship have been announced, and this year include photos and essays from around the world, including Morocco, Greece and Albania.

Winning entries

This year, over 20 people applied, with four studentsÌýreceiving a share of the scholarship fund. Entries ranged from an exploration of theÌýemerging openly queer community in Athens, a residency at Wilderness Wood in East Sussex, a trek across Europe documented by the receipts collected, a trip to Albania to find out how its communist history has shaped its built environment, and an exploration of Morocco's architectural influence as an 'urban laboratory'.

• The Future of Albania’s Built Environment by Sarah Bibby
• A residency at Wilderness WoodÌýin East Sussex

Discussing the entries, Annabel Brown, The Bartlett'sÌýDirector of Education and Student Experience, said:ÌýÌý

"We received more than 20 applications for these awards and it was wonderful to see so many exciting trips planned after the 2+Ìýyears of travel lockdowns. The Faculty was pleased to be able to help to fund these trips, which the students really enjoyed and greatly benefitted from."

The Bartlett Student Travel Awards

The Bartlett Faculty Travel Awards and Scholarships was created to support Bartlett undergraduate students in undertaking independent travelÌýandÌýcreatively document their inspiration and experiences fromÌýthese travels.
