Winners of Undergraduate Capstone Essay Prizes announced

15 December 2020

Capstone Essay Prize winners

As all usual first year undergraduate assessments were cancelled in the 2019-20 academic year, our first-year students at the Institute were asked to write a Capstone essay on the topic, 'What have you learned in your study of the history and politics of the Americas during your first year of studies?' We are very pleased to announce the winners of the Undergraduate Capstone Essay Prizes are Matthew Davies, Ewan Miller, Sofia Rayneri and Rob Youngs do Patrocinio.

They've generously agreed to share the pieces of work they submitted to the competition. Click on the links on the name of each winner below to access their essays in PDF format.

Dr Nadia Hilliard, UCL Americas Undergraduate Programme Director commented: 'Although we received many distinction-quality essays these four students stood out for the quality of their essays.  We would like to congratulate them for receiving a commendation!'
